It is ideal for both beginners and professionals with some prior experience in fashion who wish to further enhance their pattern-cutting skills. You will learn techniques for altering and adapting basic patterns to create various garment styles. Understanding body measurements and constructing garments fit for different body types. You will receive guidance on selecting appropriate fabrics for specific designs. Learn the art of draping fabrics on a dress form to create patterns. Gain hands-on experience in drafting and cutting patterns from scratch.

I am a uniquely experienced and multi-talented product Designer, Tailor, Master Pattern Cutter and Garment Engineer. I have an accomplished career in the industry, covering both Men’s and Women’s Apparel at all market levels having honed & developed my expertise from a tailor’s apprentice & expert pattern cutter to a builder of innovative performance product for a variety of domestic and international brands. My industry roles have included - Design Director of Boneville and MA.Strum, Head of Men’s Outerwear and Performance clothing at Timberland, Head of Men’s & Women’s Preview collections at Firetrap, alongside consultancy and freelance work building apparel, from bespoke tailored garments to cutting edge utility clothing and modular systems.

My experience covers the entire spectrum of the apparel building process, from the initial Brand concept and storytelling, right through to finalised collections and I’m delighted to bring my skills and experience to a new generation of aspiring designers and work with so many experienced and talented professionals at JCA.
